A forward-thinking, employee-owned engineering consultancy known for delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across a diverse range of sector is looking for a Senior or Associate level Flood Risk Specialist to join them in Edinburgh.As a team they are committed to technical excellence and foster a collaborative and inclusive work culture where everyone is encouraged to thrive.This role will involve leading and delivering flood risk assessments, developing drainage strategies, and designing sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS) across a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out detailed flood risk assessments and contribute to the development of effective flood risk management strategies.
Design and implement SuDS and drainage solutions in line with best practice and sustainability principles.
Mentor and support junior team members through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
Engage with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
Prepare high-quality technical reports and documentation.
Ensure all work complies with current legislation, guidance, and industry standards.
Qualifications and Experience
A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
Proven experience in flood risk assessment and SuDS design.
Chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, CIWEM) is desirable.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Competency with industry software such as MicroDrainage and InfoWorks.
