We’re recruiting for a permanent O&M Engineer role on behalf of a forward-thinking employer that puts its people first. With a focus on high-voltage systems up to 33kV, you’ll join a growing team that values craftsmanship, continuous learning, and safety excellence above all else.

You’ll Be Challenged – Every day is different, from HV switching to hands-on maintenance to client-facing delivery.
Inspection, maintenance and testing of HV/LV substation equipment
HV switching, isolation, and earthing (up to 33kV)
Protection testing, jointing, cable terminations, and fault finding
Installation of switchgear, transformers, and earthing systems
Issuing of safety documentation and permits
Preparing RAMS, job packs, test reports, and remedial quotes
Overseeing technicians, sub-contractors, and craft teams on site
Interacting directly with clients and stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant delivery
Ensuring all projects meet both technical and safety standards
HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (ideally in Power Distribution)
Experience in Private Networks and/or Renewable Energy environments
Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation
GWO certifications (onshore wind), Emergency First Aid & Manual Handling
Full clean driving licence
Confident with technical diagrams, test reports, and coordination of teams
A team player who promotes a positive, safety-first culture
Clear communicator who can liaise with clients and internal stakeholders
Strong decision-maker who’s comfortable solving complex technical problems
Highly organised and proactive in managing time, resources, and people
Up to £50,000, depending on experience
