The Vacancy



RSK Land Development and Engineering (LDE) Ltd, part of the RSK Group are looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join the team in Edinburgh. This is a full-time, permanent position. 


RSK LDE Ltd was formed in 2003 after a number of specialist design engineers joined RSK in order to strengthen its existing in-house capabilities.  It now has a highly experienced team made up of professional civil and structural engineering staff with many years experience in the assessment, design and construction of major development projects.


Responsibilities:


  • Infrastructure Designer supporting design team on designated projects. 
  • Undertake Infrastructure design under supervision using AutoCAD and other propriety design software.
  • Undertake negotiations with Local and Drainage Authority Engineers on design for adoptable works.
  • Understand and implement designs on private areas to comply with current Codes of Practice.
  • Understand and appreciate the role of the other members of the design team (Architect, M&E Engineer, Client etc).
  • Keep up to date with changes in legislation, codes of practice, design codes and proprietary suppliers.


Qualifications and Experience:


  • On-going experience in drawing production in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Practical understanding of civil engineering principles.
  • Use of industry standard design software including PDS for highway design and ground modelling.
  • 1st class honours or upper 2nd degree in civil engineering
  • Graduate Member of Institution of Civil Engineers and pursuing professional status.
