About The Role

Start your career journey with Tarmac as a Apprentice Technician! In this hands-on role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the quality of our products and improving our processes. Through this exciting apprenticeship, you will gain technical knowledge about our manufacturing operations, learn data analysis skills, and deliver outstanding customer service.

While working on-site, you will also complete a Professional Technical Development Programme, designed to give you the foundation to thrive in the construction and materials industry.

Role Responsibility

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct product sampling and testing to ensure our products meet quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
  • Keep accurate records and analyse data to support product improvements.
  • Build relationships with customers, technical teams, and other departments.
  • Assist with investigations into customer complaints to identify solutions.
  • Tackle both indoor and outdoor tasks – it won’t always be glamorous, but your safety is our top priority.

  • Practical – Enjoys hands-on work in a variety of environments, from on-site operations to office settings.
  • A good communicator – Able to collaborate effectively with operational teams, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Eager to develop – Self-driven to grow both technical and professional skills through on-the-job learning and formal education.
  • Detail-oriented – Capable of maintaining accurate records and delivering high-quality work.
  • Safety-focused – Committed to upholding a safe and secure working environment.

Additional Requirements

  • Qualifications: Scottish National 5 (N5) A-C in English and Maths are preferred, but Grade D or equivalent will also be considered, with additional support provided.
  • Applicants must be willing to work both indoors and outdoors, adapting to the challenges of each environment.
