Assistant Branch Manager

Simon Acres Recruitment is seeking a driven and organised Assistant Branch Manager to join a leading distributor in the construction and trade sector. About the Role


As Assistant Branch Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the branch. You'll be responsible for nurturing existing customer relationships, handling trade counter activity, and contributing to sales growth through proactive internal and external engagement. When the Branch Manager is absent, you'll take the lead, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining a strong customer-first focus.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Maintain and grow existing customer accounts

  • Conduct internal and external sales calls to drive revenue

  • Support trade counter activity, providing product advice and service excellence

  • Manage stock control and assist with administrative and operational tasks

  • Uphold strong Health & Safety standards across the branch (Zero Harm policy)

  • Step up to lead the branch when required


What Were Looking For:



  • Experience within the trade, construction, or building materials sector

  • Previous exposure to various branch functions including sales, operations, stock control, and admin

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, both face-to-face and over the phone

  • Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail

  • IT literacy and a methodical, proactive mindset

  • Self-starter who thrives in a team environment and embraces new challenges
