JOB TITLE: OPERATIONS MANAGER

-ARE YOU EXPERIENCED IN LOGISTICS AND INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING?

-ARE YOU EX-MILITARY WITH AN A-TEAM PLAYER MINDSET?

-ARE YOU CURRENTLY IN MARITIME LOGISTICS OR OFFSHORE ENERGY SUPPLY CHAIN?

IF YOU ARE, THEN WE WANT TO TALK TO YOU!

Paleamon Maritime’s purpose is to improve the safety of shipping by developing new technology that raises and sets higher standards throughout the maritime industry. Our mission is to make the use of razor wire obsolete, with our barriers to be used on every ship in every high-risk area. Our purpose and mission are already well on their way, and we are now entering an exciting new phase of strategic growth and market capture.

This newly created role is critical to our next phase and your main purpose will be to effectively and successfully manage all the operations and logistics.

The experience, strengths and attitude we seek are:

-Ex-military with at least 5 years service and experience in a maritime logistics role

-Experience in international shipping/logistics, with good working knowledge of INCOTERMS ,freight forwarding, customs clearance and document handling.

-Ability to coordinate last-mile delivery and OPL (off-port limits).

-Proficiency in stock forecasting, movement tracking, and using inventory management software.

-Experience in working with manufacturers, preferably in plastic/industrial goods, the ability to translate operational demand into production forecasts.

-Customer-focused operational support – comfortable communicating with reps, freight agents, and manufacturers across different time zones and cultures.

-Attention to detail (small errors in INCOTERMS, delivery dates, clearance times lead to big operational and costly problems).

-Calm under pressure, ability to solve dynamic operational issues.

-Clear communicator.

-Process-oriented, but flexible.

-Bias for action – movement over perfection, if a delivery is delayed or a supplier is low, they escalate fast or find a workaround.

This is an exciting time to join Palaemon Maritime and help shape the next chapters of growth. We look forward to receiving your application.

Please note: you need to have the UK RTW as we are unable to sponsor at this time and due to the criticality of this role you will need to be physically present in the Edinburgh office at least three days a week.
