Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Security Architect, reporting to the Head of Security Architecture and Engineering. You will have an excellent command of security principles and a demonstrated ability to design practical, secure solutions that exceed business needs. Your role in FNZ will be to work both as a change agent alongside business units as a trusted advisor and as an innovator, looking into and trialling new technology to benefit the business. You will be a extremely effective communicator to all audiences and highly motivated to make meaningful and high value improvements.


Specific Role Responsibilities



  • Contribute to the creation of an enterprise-wide security architecture, comprising design, patterns and processes


  • Run and develop Security Architecture Design Authority/Working Groups


  • Work with FNZ business units as a trusted advisor to ensure security considerations are built into all new systems and applications


  • Work alongside Security Engineering teams to trial and deploy security tooling that meets FNZ business needs


  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging security threats and trends, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies


  • Work closely with Application, Identity, Network and Infrastructure architects across the Group to align technology strategies



Experience required


Primary requirements



  • Significant experience in designing and deploying security tooling across on-premise and public cloud architectures


  • Proven ability to be a trusted business partner in a matrixed organisation, building strong relationships across hierarchies and business units


  • Strong experience of identifying opportunities for change and then being the driving force for making the change happen


  • Excellent ability to gather requirements and distil into suitable solutions that meet business needs


  • Outstanding communication abilities in oral and written mediums – you will be able to craft compelling messages to stakeholders of all levels

  • Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM)


  • Secure Access Service Edge (SASE, SWG, ZTNA)


  • Modern Workplace (Endpoint, EUD, M365)


  • Secret Management


  • Endpoint Detection Response
