Pupil Support Assistant - Edinburgh - Full-Time Opportunities Available!

The Social Care Community Partnership are currently recruiting for Pupil Support Assistants for schools for children with complex additional support requirments and autism - based in the City of Edinburgh.

The contract on offer is 28/30 hours - School Term Time Only.

Salary: £13.42p/h plus £1.40 per hour accrued for holiday pay. You will be paid weekly.

The working pattern is Monday to Thursday 8:40am - 3:30pm and Friday 8:40am - 12:20pm, differing slightly dependant on the school. You will be expected to take any holidays during the school holidays and not during term time.

Qualifications and Experience:

• It is essential to have basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• SVQ2 in Early Years Care and Education, or National Certificate unit in Childcare & Education is desirable.
• Experience working with people with additional/complex support needs is desirable.

Job details:

• To support all pupils within the special schools environment by assisting them in the classroom and with organised activities.
• Supporting pupils working together to encourage teamwork and cooperation.
• Providing support to the teacher and pupils within classroom learning as planned as part of the teacher's programme.
• Supervising and supporting groups in follow-up tasks set by the teacher.
• Assisting in the use of play and craft activities.
• Assist pupils with using computer software and equipment.
