Site Engineer – Civils & Groundworks

Edinburgh | £54,000 – £57,000 + Bonus + Company Car Large-Scale Commercial & Residential Projects

I'm currently working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected civil engineering and groundworks contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer to join their team in Edinburgh.

This contractor has a strong pipeline of large-scale commercial and residential developments and is known for delivering high-quality groundwork and infrastructure packages across Scotland. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to step into a key role with fantastic career progression and exposure to major projects.

The Role:

This is a hands-on site-based engineering role, working closely with the construction and technical teams to ensure all civil and groundworks are delivered to spec, on time and on budget.

Duties will include:

• Leading engineering activities on-site and managing priorities across multiple projects.

• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and design information to deliver civils works in line with project requirements.

• Providing engineering input at pre-start meetings and supporting client/site discussions.

• Producing and maintaining RFIs, site quality manuals, and as-built surveys.

• Mentoring and supporting trainee engineers with technical guidance.

• Contributing to value engineering reviews and offering innovative solutions on-site.

• Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and the Engineers Handbook.

What We're Looking For:

• Solid background in civil engineering and groundworks.

• Strong technical knowledge and site experience.

• Confident communicator who can liaise effectively across teams and with clients.

• A proactive, problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage engineering deliverables independently and prioritise workloads.
