Hours: 36 per week
We are looking for a Business Support Administrator to provide comprehensive and flexible business support across the corporate functions of the organisation. The Business Support Administrator will provide general business support to our customers and service users and will require a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You will require experience in data entry and word processing and experience of working in a busy office environment, monitoring mailboxes, using relevant technology and equipment and a good understanding of general office procedures.
The post will involve dealing with internal and external customers of the Council therefore you should have excellent customer care skills. You will require good organisation skills, be able to personally observe strict confidentiality, have the ability to prioritise your own workload at short notice to meet demands and to use your initiative in day-to-day tasks and the ability to participate as a team member. You should have effective written and oral communication skills and a flexible approach to meet the needs and demands of the service.
The Business Support Administrator will have no direct line management responsibility. The post will be based at Waverley Court, however, the role may require the successful candidate to work at any Council location. The working hours are Monday – Thursday 08:30 to 17:00 and 08:30 to 15:55 on Fridays. The role is subject to flexible working arrangements, hybrid working.
The successful candidate will provide Business Support to the Council’s Information Governance Team. The duties will include logging Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests and other requests and providing general admin support to the wider team as required.
- You must have excellent attention to detail, data entry requires a high level of focus on all levels of detail to ensure data consistency and integrity.
- You must be competent to focus on all aspects of the task and ensuring the data is accurate and consistent.
- You must be competent to organise, sort and validate data to ensure its integrity.
- You must be competent to communicate effectively.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
