Commercial Account Handler / Broker (Acturis User)
Our client, a well-regarded and fast growing independent insurance brokerage, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Account Handler / Broker to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced broker to work across a diverse SME portfolio, supporting both new business and renewals, and providing a high standard of service to a loyal and growing client base.
This position is ideal for someone confident working with premium spends upward of £10,000, with clients including:
• Restaurant Chains & Hospitality Groups
• Care & Nursing Homes
• Property Owners & Developers
• Franchise & Multi-site Businesses
The Role
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive broking and administrative support to Account Executives and Directors, ensuring a seamless client experience throughout the policy lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing renewals, mid-term adjustments, and new business quotations.
• Using Acturis to prepare documentation, process adjustments, and maintain accurate records.
• Liaising with clients to gather risk information, provide updates, and resolve queries.
• Negotiating terms with insurers and building strong market relationships.
• Preparing presentations, slips, schedules, and policy summaries.
• Ensuring full FCA compliance and adherence to internal procedures.
The Candidate
Our client is looking for a professional, personable and proactive individual with a solid understanding of commercial insurance products and systems.
Key requirements:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a commercial insurance broking or account handling role.
• Essential: Strong working knowledge of Acturis.
• Familiarity with a range of SME commercial risks, including Property, Liability, and Combined covers.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Cert CII qualification preferred or working towards (support offered).
