Teacher of ESOL with Spanish and French
Leith Academy
Salary: £33,594 - £50,589
Hours: 35 per week
A full-time, permanent teacher of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is required to join our enthusiastic team. While this post will be based in the English department in terms of ESOL provision, it will also suit a Modern Languages teacher as it will incorporate teaching of French and Spanish.
We are particularly keen to hear from those with experience of teaching ESOL or TEFL, Spanish and French who have the enthusiasm, skills and creativity to deliver ‘Success in Learning for All’ to our diverse young people, and who will play an effective role in our committed departments.
You will be expected to plan and deliver lessons for S1-6 as well as working collegiately with members of both the English and Modern Languages faculties. Leith Academy has 1:1 iPads throughout the school to help improve learning both in school and at home; as such, the successful applicant should be confident when incorporating digital learning in their classroom.
Leith Academy is a diverse and comprehensive secondary school in Edinburgh. The school roll is currently around 1000 pupils.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
