We are looking for an experienced and talented Night Receptionist to join our fantastic venue.

The Role

Night Operations Management

  • Act as the senior point of contact during night shifts across all cluster properties.
  • Coordinate and support night teams remotely, ensuring consistent standards and communication.
  • Oversee and assist with the nightly operations at The Scotsman Hotel, including reception duties and guest interactions.
  • Conduct virtual or scheduled check-ins with staff across the cluster to ensure performance and compliance.

Night Audit & Reporting

  • Complete and review night audit processes for each property, ensuring accurate reporting of revenues and end-of-day reconciliations.
  • Generate and distribute financial and operational reports to senior leadership each morning.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring adherence to financial controls and audit standards.

Guest Service & Issue Resolution

  • Provide prompt and professional responses to guest queries, complaints, or emergencies overnight.
  • Support VIP arrivals and manage special requests or late check-ins/check-outs.
  • Ensure a warm and secure guest environment throughout all properties.

Security & Safety Oversight

  • Monitor property safety through direct inspections (Scotsman) and staff check-ins (other properties).
  • Respond to and manage emergency situations including fire alarms, medical incidents, or security breaches.
  • Liaise with external emergency services when required.

Team Supervision & Support

  • Supervise and guide night team members across the cluster, offering training, performance feedback, and support.
  • Ensure handovers are communicated clearly with day teams for all properties.

Essential

The Person:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in hotel front office or night management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of night audit processes and financial reconciliation.
  • Proven experience in managing teams, preferably across multiple sites.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with hotel PMS systems (e.g., Opera, Protel, or similar).
  • Previous experience in boutique or lifestyle hotels.
  • Knowledge of Edinburgh city centre and hospitality landscape.
