Aberdeen Comprises Three Businesses, Interactive Investor (ii), Investments And Adviser, Each Of Which Focuses On Meeting And Adapting To Our Clients’ Evolving Needs
The Chief Data Officer (CDO) is responsible for leading the strategy, governance and technical delivery of data within Aberdeen Investments. This role will work closely with senior leaders across the business to ensure data initiatives align with company’s strategic goals in pursuit of improved utilization of data to drive business insights, improved decision-making, and enhanced operational efficiency.

The Chief Data Officer (CDO) is responsible for leading the strategy, governance and technical delivery of data within Aberdeen Investments. Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy and Roadmap:
- Develop and implement a data strategy that supports the strategic goals of Aberdeen Investments.
- Define a roadmap for technical delivery that aligns priorities and maximises team capacity
- Shape and lead a team of data professionals cross-discipline.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Oversee the design and implementation of the Aberdeen data lake and associated tooling.
- Ensure the efficient and secure storage, processing, and retrieval of data as it relates to Aberdeen’s data lake.
- Define and embed data governance policies and standards to ensure data quality & integrity.
- Establish an Aberdeen data dictionary that drives accessibility and describes both lineage and, by default, quality considerations.
- Drive the development of advanced analytics and business intelligence capabilities.
- Utilize data to generate actionable insights and support strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to deliver and embed data solutions that enhance business operations.
- Communicate data insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
- Stay abreast of emerging data technologies and trends.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of asset management.
- Proven experience in a senior role, with a successful track record of influencing and implementing strategic outcomes as they relate to data.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Expertise in data architecture, analytics, and business intelligence.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A strategic thinker with a visionary approach to data management.
- Detail-oriented and analytical mindset.
