The opportunity
Due to growth, Leonardo have an exciting opportunity for a Scrum Master in the Firmware development team. As a Scrum Master you will help create and lead self-organising teams, to successfully deliver complex and innovative projects that delight customers.
You will belong to a community of diverse Project Management professionals, bringing your own unique skills and experiences to contribute towards business improvement initiatives ensuring best practice and a consistent level of high performance across the business. You will help to drive the adoption of Agile practices while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement within our Scrum teams. The ideal candidate will bring experience with Scrum and SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), as well as a passion for coaching and developing high-performing teams. The role will be a mixture of home based and onsite.
What You’ll Do As a Scrum Master
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Scrum Master who will provide servant-leadership for at least two Scrum teams. This role requires someone who can guide teams through the Agile process and help them achieve their goals with a strong focus on continuous improvement. You will facilitate key Agile ceremonies, including Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, and Sprint Reviews, while also working to resolve blockers and ensure smooth delivery within an Agile framework.

- Facilitate PI Planning (Program Increment Planning) sessions, contributing to a successful and aligned ART.
- Work closely with product owners to ensure features are clear and well-defined and that backlog items are properly prioritised.
- Foster collaboration and communication within teams, ensuring that all team members are aligned with sprint goals and objectives.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, helping the team to identify ways to enhance productivity and performance.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to help team members grow their understanding of Agile practices and principles.
- Help teams follow Scrum, Kanban, and other Agile methodologies, ensuring these techniques are adapted to suit the business needs.
- Share common Agile and Scaled Agile practices with the broader organisation to help raise awareness and consistency in Agile practices across teams.
What We Need From You

- Proven experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments, ideally with at least 3 years of experience.
- Solid experience with the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodology and demonstrated knowledge of PI Planning.
- Familiarity with Scrum/Kanban methodologies and an ability to apply them based on team needs.
- Experience in leading teams through PI Planning sessions.
- Proficiency in Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence, including the ability to create reports and dashboards .
- Knowledge of BigPicture (desirable) for managing and tracking Agile initiatives within JIRA.
- Experience working in teams where Agile techniques have been adapted to meet specific business goals (that don't fit into a true Agile model)
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills with a focus on empowering teams to continuously improve, enhancing productivity and quality.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- A strong ability to foster collaboration, resolve conflicts, and remove obstacles that may impede team progress.
- Knowledge of FPGAs / SoCs is a plus, although not mandatory.
- Knowledge of working within Engineering or Technology Infrastructure teams (desirable).
- SAFe certification (e.g. SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)), is highly desirable.
