Are you curious about what drives consumer behaviour and passionate about turning insights into strategic opportunities? Join our dynamic team at Lloyds Banking Group as a Customer Insight Manager, where you'll use market trends, competitor insights, and behavioural data to shape propositions, marketing and experiences that truly resonate. Your curious mindset will help uncover customer and commercial opportunities to influence the future of banking.
We're looking for 3 people in the Insights, Planning and Effectiveness (IP&E) team, part of the Brands, Marketing and Experience (BMX) function. You'll be part of a supportive team that values curiosity, creativity, and clarity. Your ability to triangulate data from multiple sources and translate it into strategic recommendations will be key to your success.
The roles:
1) Propositions & Channels
You'll explore behavioural data, research and industry trends to uncover actionable insights that shape our current and future propositions and channel evolution. You'll work closely with proposition and customer facing teams to ensure our offerings are aligned with real customer needs and expectations. Your insights will help us stay ahead of the curve, delivering value to both our customers and the business.
2) External Insights
You'll lead the integration of external insight - understanding how customers and competitors behave - to inform internal strategies and keep us ahead in retail banking. Your work will support the evolution of segmentations and help influence senior stakeholders through compelling, data-driven storytelling.
3) Commercial Opportunity
You'll lead insight projects: transforming customer data, market/industry information and research findings into actionable insight. You'll work with and influence stakeholders across the business to help identify commercial opportunities for LBG amongst individual consumers (covering Everyday Banking, Lending, Insurance and Wealth), inform strategic decisions, enhance customer experience, and drive innovation.
Your accountabilities will include:
Lead the design and delivery of customer insight projects that inform strategic decisions and drive customer-focused outcomes.
Combine data from multiple sources - including research, analytics, and behavioural trends - to build a well-rounded view of customer needs and expectations.
Translate complex findings into clear, compelling insights that influence stakeholders across the business.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working at pace, translating broad business challenges into actionable, commercially viable insight plans.
Collaborate with teams across marketing, product, propositions, and channels to ensure insight is driving future strategy.
Monitor market and competitor trends to help identify emerging risks and opportunities.
Champion a culture of customer-centric thinking, ensuring insight is at the heart of decision-making.
Lead in fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
About you
Proven experience in a customer insight, strategy, or analytics role - ideally within financial services or a similarly data-rich environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesise and triangulate data from multiple sources, including internal and external datasets.
Sound understanding of commercial levers within financial services, including market context and how it impacts the Group's strategy
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling insights for a range of stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with a commercial mindset and a strong focus on customer needs.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 tools - particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams - for creating, collaborating on, and presenting insight-driven content.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment with multiple stakeholders including external suppliers.
Naturally curious and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset and a desire to learn.
Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
About working for us
Our focus is to ensure we are inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity, or culture. We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative. And it is why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups. We are disability confident. So, if you would like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.
If you are excited by the thought of becoming part of our team, get in touch.
We would love to hear from you!
