About The Role

Our client, a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, is seeking a talented and motivated CAD/BIM Technician to join their vibrant Edinburgh office. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a modern, open-plan space with panoramic views of the city, and to contribute to exciting civil and structural engineering projects.

Experience

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in preparing civil and structural drawings and models using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with managing and archiving digital drawings and incoming design information.
  • Comfortable supporting engineers with general design and administrative tasks.

Skills

  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and presentation.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of BIM/CAD standards and digital drawing conventions.

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare civil and structural models and drawings from sketches, hand drawings, or layouts.
  • Manage the digital storage, filing, and archiving of all project drawings.
  • Receive and organise incoming drawings from other design team members.
  • Ensure adherence to BIM/CAD standards and company quality procedures.
  • Support engineers with general tasks such as scanning, setting up drawings, and producing PDFs.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
