Reporting to the Head of Discretionary Investment Management, the Senior Fund Analyst will be a crucial member of of an Investment Team that manages over £3bn of retail money in discretionary model portfolios and advises on a further £7bn.


The range of discretionary model portfolios hold around 80 open ended retail investment funds and, the Senior Fund Analyst’s primary responsibility will be for the ongoing due diligence of many of these funds and locating new investments for the discretionary model portfolios.


WHAT YOU WILL NEED


  • Ideally at least 5 years previous experience in a role analysing investment funds and/ or other investment securities.
  • Previous experience in a role carrying out due diligence with Fund Managers on a face-to-face basis
  • Previous experience of roles with a strong compliance and regulatory focus
  • A comprehensive understanding of the financial services sector and regulatory context
  • Experience using Morningstar Direct, FE Analytics, Refinitiv and Microsoft Excel is desirable
  • CFA qualifications would be an advantage


WHAT YOUR ROLE WILL INVOLVE


  • Screening the global fund universe for new investments
  • Arranging and hosting fund manager meetings.
  • Writing up fund manager meeting notes
  • Pitching new fund ideas to the broader Investment Team
  • Updating internal fund due diligence reports
  • Ensuring funds comply with internal rules


The Senior Fund Analyst will participate in team meetings including discussions around asset allocation, funds, and portfolios construction.


The Senior Fund Analyst will also be involved in other day to day tasks undertaken by the Investment Team as required, including responding to adviser queries, investment writing for marketing material, and maintaining process documents.
