Key Responsibilities: Engagement
- Support planning and delivery of community outreach activities and events.
- Build and maintain reciprocal relationships with local residents, service users, and partner organisations.
- Assist with consultations, focus groups, and feedback gathering.
- Help identify community needs and contribute to inclusive engagement strategies, specifically supporting ethnic minority families to access services and opportunities
- Represent the organisation at events or forums to raise awareness and gather insights.
- Support the logistical coordination of a team of volunteers
Key Responsibilities: Communication
- Draft and edit newsletters, blog posts, donor updates, and other written materials
- Assist in managing and creating content for social media platforms
- Support the maintenance and further development of the MCFB WordPress website
- Support the development of fundraising and campaign materials
- Help maintain communication strategy calendars, contact lists, and media databases
- Monitor press coverage and social media mentions
- Conduct basic research to support content creation and outreach
- Assist with internal communications and event promotion as needed
Skills/Qualifications:
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with nonprofit communications or fundraising is a plus
- Experience with tools like Mailchimp, Canva, SharePoint, and social media platforms
- Experience with the Adobe Suite, specifically Illustrator
- Experience with audio design, including podcast and music production/performance
- Experience with mentoring and supporting young people and amplifying their narrative voices
