The Opportunity

We have a new opportunity for a Geospatial Consultant within our Water Sector team. The role is be based in our Edinburgh office, with hybrid working allowing for a combination of in-office and home working (3-days per week in the office). Our Edinburgh office is located in the City Centre, a short distance from Edinburgh Haymarket station and other public transport links.
You will be working with an award-winning team of geospatial experts driving digital transformation across Stantec and our clients within the Water sector. You will be part of a customer- and user-focused team, championing new digital workflows and integrating technology and data into our services and solutions.
As a Geospatial Consultant within our team, you will play a pivotal role in helping clients make smarter, data-driven decisions by leveraging the power of location-based data. You will be involved in projects that look to develop and apply our range of digital offerings across a variety of projects – whether this be data visualisation, multi-criteria analysis, automation and efficiency, or best practice data management.
You will drive insights from big data to enable proactive management of assets and more informed investment planning—ultimately benefiting communities by using digital technology to help our clients meet the challenges they face.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need to have had prior experience of working within a GIS/Geospatial Analyst role, preferably in a role involving consultancy or client-facing work. You will have a strong proficiency with GIS platforms such as Esri ArcGIS Suite, QGIS, ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise.
You will have experience in geospatial data processing and data transformation using tools like Python, SQL, ModelBuilder or FME.
You will be aware of data management and best practices and demonstrate an innovative and inquisitive approach to your work.
Experience with automating data processes would be advantageous; as would any experience working in the Water, Utilities or related Infrastructure sectors.
