Join us as an Infrastructure Analyst

  • Hone your analytical skills as you provide support to ensure the operational health of the Db2 platform, covering all aspects of running a service on Db2 in both test and production
  • You’ll be supporting the platforms’ operational stability and technology performance, including maintaining Db2 subsystems, IBM admin tools and other supporting products
  • This is an opportunity to learn a variety of new skills in a constantly evolving environment, working closely with other teams to continuously enhance your development

What you'll do

As an Infrastructure Analyst, you’ll be providing input to and supporting the team’s activities to make sure that the Db2 platform is kept up to date, safe and secure. You’ll be supporting the delivery of a robust production management for key applications supporting millions of internal and external customers.

Your Role Will Involve

  • Contributing to the platform risk culture, making sure that risks are discussed and understood at every step, and effectively collaborating to mitigate risk
  • Contributing to the planning and execution of work on and around Db2 and Db2 tools, along with providing timely servicing of problems and issues in both production and test and development
  • Interacting with IBM, Broadcom and other vendors to deliver best outcomes for the platform and our customers
  • Building relationships within the wider Db2 team and across the whole of the mainframe to deliver the solutions needed

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be a very capable communicator with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to colleagues, including management level. You’ll have the ability to quickly grasp and investigate very complex problems at speed to deliver safe outcomes for Db2. Experience of Off host connectivity into Db2 and security would be advantageous.

We’ll Also Look To You To Demonstrate

  • Good knowledge of Db2 z/os v13 and function levels for continuous delivery
  • Some knowledge of supporting products such as Sysview for Db2 and Log Analyser
  • Good knowledge of SQL for Db2 z/os
  • Good working knowledge of Db2 utilities
  • Knowledge of HPU, Detector SQLREQP, QREP and CDC
