We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our ECRS MK2 Radar Quality Assurance Team in Edinburgh. This is a fantastic chance to be part of a dynamic and supportive team that plays a critical role in delivering next-generation radar solutions to our customers worldwide.
Your Impact
In this role, you’ll focus on delivering high standards in quality assurance across the lifecycle of complex defence programmes. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, manage quality risks, and support the resolution of non-conformances—all while driving a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV). Your Impact
In this role, you’ll focus on delivering high standards in quality assurance across the lifecycle of complex defence programmes. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, manage quality risks, and support the resolution of non-conformances—all while driving a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Work alongside Programme and Project Managers to proactively identify and address risks, threats, and opportunities in line with Project Assurance Plans (PAP).
- Develop and maintain Project Assurance Plans that align with operational and quality frameworks, and support business performance across the programme.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for non-conformance events, promoting a prevention-focused approach to quality issues.
- Provide technical guidance to team members to support development and foster a high-performing, inclusive culture within the Quality Team and Integrated Project Team (IPT).
- Help shape and implement assurance function improvement initiatives across all stages of the product and project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present clear, actionable reports on quality performance, metrics, and assurance activities to key stakeholders.
- Knowledge of quality standards such as AS9100 and ISO9001, with experience applying continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), Fault Lifecycle Analysis, Process Mapping, Verification, and First Article Inspection.
- Ability to interpret data, identify trends or issues, and present solutions clearly and effectively.
- Comfortable working with stakeholders from across the business, including customers and suppliers, and committed to building trusted relationships.
- A willingness to guide and support colleagues, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive team environment.
