As part of our Edinburgh based Lab, you will play a key role within established engineering teams evolving our Insurance, Pension and Investment Digital Channels. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven candidate who is passionate and experienced in designing and delivering modern solutions.

What will you be doing

  • Leading and collaborating with other engineering, product and business colleagues to implement data led product features that allow us to digitally modernise customer journeys

  • Identify and develop strategic relationships with external partners and vendors

  • Oversee resource planning and allocation for the function, and align this with organisational cadence and objectives

  • Implementing streaming data applications to deliver data and analytics in near real time to customers and colleagues

  • Utilising modern cloud hosted data stores that allow us to move away from legacy systems and benefit from the scalability and accessibility it offers

  • Owning and completing the Platform Data Product Strategy to deliver high quality, reliable and consumable data products

What you'll need

  • A positive, energetic attitude and ability to lead effectively across multi-disciplinary, internal, and external distributed teams in the initiative lifecycle

  • Extensive experience developing innovative and complex system analysis artefacts, designs and technical requirements especially on initiatives with 3rd Party Platforms

  • The capability to play a lead role in modern engineering teams to deliver value through Cloud hosted solutions (preferably GCP) and real-time data streaming like Kakfa

  • Proven ability and the growth mindset to drive inclusive cultural change and promote continuous improvement across the organisation

  • Future focussed outlook, able to clearly communicate a customer-centric end state that motivates and inspires colleagues

  • Deep knowledge in the Financial Services sector, particularly Pensions, Investments and Bancassurance

  • A talent to see the inherent value in data and the skills to story tell and visualise it through appropriate tools like Tableau and PowerBI
