About the Firm

Our client is a thriving independent accountancy and business advisory practice with a strong presence across Central Scotland. Their approach centres on clear insight, digital efficiency and long‑term client relationships.

Working in smaller teams ensures strong personal connections, and their values are embedded in everything they do. They are committed to nurturing talent and providing structured development opportunities at every stage of your career.

The Accounts Supervisor Role

In this role, you will take responsibility for managing a small portfolio of SME clients while supporting the wider team. Key duties include:

  • Managing a portfolio of SME businesses and maintaining regular client contact
  • Delivering a proactive, client‑centred service
  • Training and supervising students within the team
  • Reviewing work prepared by colleagues and providing constructive feedback
  • Preparing Limited Company, LLP, partnership and sole trader accounts
  • Preparing management accounts
  • Drafting personal and corporation tax computations
  • Supporting assistant managers with ad‑hoc client tasks
  • Keeping technical knowledge up to date across accounting standards and tax
  • Communicating with clients and HMRC both verbally and in writing

This is a role with excellent development potential and the chance to build strong client relationships.

About You

You will bring:

  • Nearly or newly qualified status (ACCA, ICAS, ICAEW)
  • At least 3 years’ experience within a UK practice environment
  • Strong experience preparing sole trader, FRS102 and FRS102 1A accounts
  • A commitment to delivering first‑class service
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to retain and apply technical knowledge
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal

The Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Hybrid, agile and flexible working (post‑probation)
  • Workplace pension & 3x life cover
  • Employee Assistance Programme, including GP24
  • Access to Reward Gateway with high‑street discounts and wellbeing resources
  • Client referral and staff referral bonuses
  • Regular 1:1 meetings to support personal development
  • Opportunities to participate in internal wellbeing and ESG initiatives

This is a fantastic full‑time opportunity based in the firm’s Edinburgh office, offering long‑term progression and a supportive team culture.
