This role offers a strong combination of high-level client advisory work, team leadership, business development, and strategic influence within a forward-thinking and people-focused environment.

The Role

As Personal Tax Director, you will lead a mixed-experience team consisting of Assistants, Assistant Managers, Managers, and Senior Managers, ensuring both exceptional client delivery and continued development of future leaders within the department.

The role will involve providing strategic and high-level technical advice across personal tax, business tax, and capital taxes, working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm to deliver coordinated and commercially focused solutions.

Alongside client responsibilities, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the tax department, supporting wider leadership objectives while ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strong commercial performance.

You will mentor and support senior members of the team, promoting a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and professional development across the wider tax function.

The position will also involve identifying and securing opportunities to grow the department and wider firm through networking, relationship management, business development activity, and promotion of the firm’s services within the marketplace.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional seeking a senior leadership position with genuine influence, client ownership, and long-term progression potential.

About You

You will be an experienced private client or personal tax professional with a strong background gained within a UK accountancy practice or professional services environment.

Experience managing both compliance and advisory work across a diverse personal tax portfolio is essential, alongside strong technical knowledge across personal, business, and capital taxes.

CA qualified (or equivalent) is essential.

You will demonstrate strong commercial awareness, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead and develop high-performing teams within a professional practice environment.
