AWS Lambda Developer – 6 Month Contract | Inside IR35 | Hybrid Edinburgh

We’re hiring an AWS Lambda Developer for a 6 month contract opportunity with a leading organisation investing heavily in modern cloud engineering. You’ll be working on cutting-edge, event-driven applications using the latest AWS technologies, helping deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a cloud-native environment and enjoys solving complex engineering challenges with serverless architecture.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Designing and building scalable serverless applications using AWS Lambda

• Developing robust backend services and APIs using Python

• Working across AWS services including API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Step Functions, IAM, and CloudWatch

• Driving performance, scalability, and cost optimisation across cloud platforms

• Building and improving CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments

• Troubleshooting and enhancing cloud applications in a modern microservices environment

• Collaborating with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade solutions

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong hands-on AWS Lambda development experience

• Excellent Python skills

• Proven experience within serverless and event-driven architectures

• Strong knowledge of AWS services including DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, CloudFormation, IAM, and CloudWatch

• Experience with CI/CD, cloud security, monitoring, and best practices

• Ability to work in fast-paced Agile delivery teams
