Senior AWS Connect Developer

£420-440/day (Inside IR35) | 6–12 Month Contract

Edinburgh Preferred (Hybrid)

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior AWS Connect Developer to support large-scale cloud contact centre transformation initiatives within a complex enterprise environment.

This role focuses on designing, building, and scaling intelligent cloud-based contact centre solutions using Amazon Connect and wider AWS services. You’ll work on enterprise customer experience transformation programmes involving IVR modernisation, CCaaS migration, CRM integrations, and customer journey optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into scalable Amazon Connect solutions
• Design and develop IVR workflows, dynamic routing, skill-based queues, and agent hierarchies
• Configure routing profiles, fallback strategies, failover mechanisms, and hours of operation
• Build and configure contact flows, routing logic, and agent experiences
• Develop backend integrations using AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, and S3
• Integrate Amazon Connect with enterprise CRM platforms such as Salesforce and ServiceNow
• Support integrations with external APIs and enterprise systems
• Lead migration initiatives from legacy contact centre platforms such as Avaya to Amazon Connect
• Optimise routing performance, resilience, scalability, and availability
• Support testing, production releases, and stabilisation activities across delivery programmes

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Connect including:

IVR design

Contact flows

Routing profiles

Queues and agent configuration

Reporting configuration

• Strong understanding of contact centre operations including:

ACD

IVR

CTI

Intelligent routing

• Strong understanding of CCaaS platforms and customer experience solutions
• Experience designing telephony and customer journey solutions
• Strong experience with AWS services including:
• AWS Lambda
• Amazon API Gateway
• Amazon DynamoDB
• Amazon S3
• IAM
• CloudWatch
• Strong Python development capability for Lambda functions
• Experience integrating Amazon Connect with:
• Salesforce Service Cloud Voice
• ServiceNow
• Enterprise APIs and platforms
• Experience with migration programmes from Avaya to Amazon Connect
• Knowledge of CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code including:
• Terraform
• CloudFormation
• Experience supporting cloud-native deployment and operational models
