Senior Marketing Manager - Sector Growth & Go-To-Market

Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid Working)

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Point Six One Eight is delighted to be working exclusively with one of the UK's leading accountancy firms, based in Edinburgh, as they look to hire an experienced and commercially minded Senior Marketing Manager to lead their go-to-market strategy across several high-growth industry sectors.


This is a senior leadership role and ideal for someone who understands how marketing can directly influence commercial performance. Working closely with senior business leaders, you'll help shape market strategy, strengthen client acquisition efforts, increase cross-selling opportunities, and support sustainable business growth.


You'll be joining an ambitious organisation where marketing is viewed as a strategic business partner rather than a support function, giving you the opportunity to influence decision-making at the highest levels.


Key Responsibilities:


Go-to-Market Strategy:

  • Develop and lead sector-specific go-to-market strategies aligned to wider business objectives.
  • Identify market opportunities and competitive advantages.
  • Translate business priorities into focused marketing and business development plans.
  • Ensure alignment between sector initiatives, service offerings, and overall growth objectives.


Commercial Growth:

Drive measurable business outcomes through:

  • Increased cross-selling opportunities across service lines.
  • Growth within key target sectors.
  • Improved win rates and conversion performance.
  • Enhanced market positioning and client acquisition strategies.


Strategic Business Partnering:

  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Act as a strategic adviser on marketing, business development, and market positioning.
  • Contribute to commercial discussions and growth planning.
  • Challenge thinking constructively and influence decision-making where appropriate.


Propositions, Pitching & Positioning:

  • Strengthen value propositions and market differentiation.
  • Improve proposal and pitch processes to maximise success rates.
  • Ensure messaging is insight-led, compelling, and commercially focused.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver consistency across client-facing communications.


Data, Insight & CRM:

  • Champion a data-driven approach to marketing and business development.
  • Use market intelligence and CRM insights to identify opportunities and improve targeting.
  • Measure performance, ROI, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Create feedback loops that continuously improve marketing performance.


Leadership & Team Development:

  • Lead and develop marketing professionals within the team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Support the ongoing development of marketing capabilities across the organisation.


About You:

We're looking for a confident and commercially focused marketing leader who can operate effectively in a complex, professional services environment.


Key experience we're looking for:

  • Significant experience in a senior marketing, sector marketing, or business development role within professional services (essential).
  • A proven track record of contributing to business growth, improving win rates, and supporting revenue generation.
  • Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence senior leaders and executive-level decision-makers.
  • Experience supporting proposals, pitching, and competitive positioning.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence using data and CRM systems to inform decision-making.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a focus on building trust and credibility across the business.
