Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit an Internal Communications & Engagement Manager for a 12 month contract with possible extension on a rate of £29.77/hour (PAYE). Hybrid working, onsite Tuesday & Wednesday, with very occasional travel to other Scottish offices.
Responsibilities
- Lead on the development and delivery of all internal communications relating to the publication of the Culture Review. Engage with staff and senior leaders to ensure they are fully supported and informed throughout, and we are transparent around the actions being taken forward in response to it.
- Build strong relationships with leaders, and partner with key stakeholders, becoming a trusted source of advice and supporting leaders to communicate effectively with staff, including leading through change.
- Develop strong working relationships with staff across the organisation to drive two-way communication around the publication of the Culture Review and actions arising from it to ensure continuous learning and improvement.
- Play a leading role in ensuring that our staff understand and buy in to our organisation’s culture, values and our current priorities by managing content creation and curation for internal communications initiatives primarily around the publication of the Culture Review, but with the flexibility to support other workstreams where necessary.
- Track communications performance, across a range of platforms, using analytics and feedback while monitoring effectiveness and refining strategies based on insights. Ensure all activities comply with legislation and organisational policies, reporting progress and opportunities to senior leadership.
Essential Skills:
- Degree or equivalent experience in communications, media, PR, marketing, or a related field.
- Proven ability to plan, manage, and deliver engaging communications across multiple channels, multiple projects that support wider business objectives, culture, and employer brand.
- Understanding of the importance of culture in an organisation and how it supports a positive working environment based around clear values and principles.
- Evidence of building employee engagement through communications activity
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of internal communications tools and platforms (e.g. SharePoint, email systems, employee apps).
- Experience delivering internal communications and engagement activity in a dispersed or remote workforce – connecting people, shaping culture, and bringing an organisation’s story to life
