HGV Class 2 Driver / Removals Operative – Edinburgh

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver / Removals Operative to join our well-established client based in Edinburgh.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driver who is happy to take on a hands-on role, supporting a busy removals operation. Driving will form a smaller part of the role, with the majority focused on physical removals work.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a HGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, or Removals Operative.

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday
• 07:00 start time

Pay Rate:

• £15.25 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as a HGV Class 2 Driver / Removals Operative will be:

• Driving a Category C vehicle (approximately 10–20% of the role)
• Supporting full removals operations at customer sites
• Loading and unloading furniture and household goods
• Heavy lifting and manual handling of large and bulky items
• Assisting with packing, moving, and positioning items
• Ensuring items are handled carefully to avoid damage
• Completing daily vehicle checks and paperwork
• Providing a professional and customer-focused service

Essential Skills:

The skills required to be a HGV Class 2 Driver / Removals Operative are:

• Valid UK Category C Driving Licence
• Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• Strong understanding of driver regulations and tachograph rules
• Comfortable carrying out heavy lifting operations
• Reliable, professional, and punctual
• Good communication and customer service skills

Desirable Experience:

• Previous experience in removals, logistics, or heavy manual roles (highly advantageous)

Training:

• Ongoing support and development provided
