Recruit UK are working on an excellent opportunity for a Senior Paraplanner to join a growing and highly regarded financial planning firm. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, Level 4 qualified Paraplanner who enjoys delivering high-quality technical support and working closely with Financial Advisers to provide outstanding client outcomes.

This role offers the chance to work within a collaborative team, supporting a wide range of clients across investment, retirement, tax and estate planning, while contributing to the continued development of the firm's paraplanning function.

The position is based in either the Edinburgh office, operating on a hybrid working model.

Role:

As a Senior Paraplanner, you will provide technical expertise and report-writing support throughout the advice process, helping advisers deliver tailored financial planning solutions while ensuring an exceptional client experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing high-quality suitability reports tailored to individual client objectives.
  • Undertaking detailed financial analysis and developing cashflow planning models.
  • Researching and recommending suitable investment, pension, protection and tax planning solutions.
  • Preparing financial planning reports, recommendation letters and supporting documentation.
  • Taking ownership of client files and ensuring accurate maintenance of back-office systems throughout the advice process.
  • Preparing annual review documentation, investment performance reports and updated cashflow models.
  • Working closely with Advisers and Administrators to ensure new business is processed efficiently.
  • Liaising directly with clients to support ongoing servicing and, where appropriate, attending client meetings.
  • Building strong working relationships with professional connections, including Solicitors and Accountants, to support client planning strategies.
  • Supporting the continual improvement of report templates, technical standards and paraplanning processes.
  • Keeping up to date with industry developments, legislation and regulatory changes.

Skills and experience required: Senior Paraplanner
  • Diploma in Financial Planning (Level 4) as a minimum.
  • At least two years' experience in a Paraplanning role within Financial Services.
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, protection, taxation and estate planning.
  • Excellent report-writing, research and analytical skills.
  • Experience using cashflow modelling software.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Advisers, clients and third-party professionals.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and keeping up to date with regulatory and legislative changes.
