As an Operative at our Edinburgh bakery, you'll play an important role in helping to produce some of the UK's most loved biscuits while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
This is a diverse opportunity that brings together elements of machine operation, process operation, recording, packing, and production support activities. Whether you're operating manufacturing equipment, monitoring production processes, preparing finished goods for distribution, maintaining accurate production records, or supporting the smooth running of the bakery, you'll be a vital part of our production operation.
Working alongside experienced colleagues in a supportive and collaborative environment, you'll have the opportunity to develop a broad range of manufacturing skills while gaining valuable exposure to different areas of the production process.
Working a rotating dayshift pattern, you'll alternate between early and late shifts while enjoying a consistent Monday to Friday schedule. Responsibilities
- Become part of a skilled production team supporting a fast-paced, high-volume food manufacturing operation
- Operate and support a variety of production processes, machinery, packing operations, and equipment across the bakery
- Help maintain efficiency, quality, and product consistency throughout the manufacturing process
- Complete production documentation and records accurately while maintaining high attention to detail
- Support the safe movement, handling, packing, and preparation of finished products
- Contribute to high standards of food safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and operational excellence
- Work collaboratively with production, warehouse, and support teams to keep operations running smoothly
- Enjoy a varied role with opportunities to learn new skills and develop across multiple operational areas
Criteria
- Experience within manufacturing, production, warehousing, logistics, service operations, or similarly fast-paced environments would be beneficial
- A strong commitment to quality, safety, and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A positive approach to learning and developing new skills
- A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of tasks
- Flexibility to work across different operational areas and shift patterns
