Interim Finance Director

12-Month Assignment

A complex, multi-site organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Director to join its executive leadership team on an interim basis.

This appointment offers the opportunity to play a key role in shaping organisational strategy, providing financial leadership, and supporting critical decision-making across a broad operational environment.

The Role

As a member of the senior leadership team, you will provide strategic financial direction and ensure the organisation maintains a strong framework for financial management, governance and accountability.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Leading the finance function and developing a high-performing team.
• Providing strategic financial advice to executive and board-level stakeholders.
• Overseeing financial planning, reporting, forecasting and performance management.
• Supporting major investment decisions and long-term financial sustainability.
• Leading the financial aspects of significant capital projects and investment programmes.
• Driving effective asset management strategies across a diverse estate and infrastructure portfolio.
• Ensuring robust controls, compliance and risk management arrangements are in place.
• Supporting organisational transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

We are interested in speaking with accomplished finance leaders who can demonstrate:

• A recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).
• Experience operating at executive or director level within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong track record in strategic financial leadership and corporate governance.
• Extensive experience of capital investment programmes and asset management.
• The ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide clear financial insight.
• Strong leadership, communication and change management skills.

• Interim contract
