Senior Quantity Surveyor - Heavy Civils & Infrastructure

Location: Scotland
Sector: Civil Engineering / Infrastructure
Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established UK infrastructure contractor delivering a long-term programme of major civil engineering and infrastructure works across Scotland.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior QS to take responsibility for the commercial management of significant project packages, from procurement through to final account, while working on major infrastructure schemes with a strong pipeline of work.

The role would also suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is looking to take the next step towards Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager level, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of major civil engineering and infrastructure packages
  • Managing projects from procurement through to final account
  • Subcontract procurement, negotiation and management
  • Cost control, forecasting and financial reporting
  • Contract administration and commercial management
  • Monitoring project performance, costs and financial risk
  • Supporting the wider commercial and project delivery teams
  • Managing commercial relationships with subcontractors and supply chain partners

Experience Required

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civils, infrastructure or similar large-scale construction environments.

Experience across some of the following areas would be highly relevant:

  • Earthworks and excavation
  • Reinforced concrete and foundations
  • Drainage and utilities
  • Access roads and hardstanding
  • Energy, power and substation-related civils
  • Subcontract procurement and management
  • Cost control, forecasting and reporting
  • Contract administration and commercial management

Experience within energy, utilities, power or substation projects would be advantageous but is not essential.

Why Apply?

  • Join an established UK infrastructure contractor
  • Work on a long-term programme of major infrastructure projects across Scotland
  • Strong pipeline of work providing excellent long-term stability
  • Significant commercial responsibility and ownership
  • Opportunity to work on substantial civils and infrastructure packages
  • Clear potential for progression towards Managing QS / Commercial Manager
  • Opportunity to develop your career within a well-established contractor

If you are an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a heavy civils or infrastructure background and are interested in a long-term opportunity in Scotland, this could be an excellent next step.
