MPI are looking for Substation fitters in Scotland, different locations (Argyll, Lochay, Peterhead SGT)

Inside IR35 rate £34p/h PAYE or Umbrella £44.00 p/h
Subsistence - £51.97 daily

About the role

Due to continued growth across our Substations business in Scotland, we're looking to recruit experienced Substation Fitters to support a growing portfolio of transmission and distribution projects.

With work taking place across multiple locations throughout Scotland, successful candidates could be based on projects anywhere in the country. As a result, a flexible approach to travel and working away from home is essential. What you'll be doing

• Install and assemble HV plant and equipment on substations from 33kV to 400kV.
• Carry out installation of transformers, busbars, connectors, earthing systems, cables and associated infrastructure.
• Erect aluminium and steel structures and ensure equipment is correctly aligned and secured.
• Perform routine maintenance and assist in resolving on-site installation issues.
• Work in line with all health, safety and quality requirements
• Deliver installation works safely and efficiently.
• Liaise with Site Managers, Supervisors and Project Teams to support project delivery.
• Ensure equipment and materials are available when required.
• Complete site documentation and reporting accurately and on time.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on site.

Who we're looking for

• Experience in substation installation works and site procedures.
• EUSR SHEA Power
• Manual Handling
• Ability to work at heights
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable but no essential

• SSE, SPEN or National Grid authorisations.
• MEWP, Telehandler or ROTO certification.
• Experience with transformer and HV switchgear installation and alignment.

Licence/Certification:

• EUSR SHEA Power (preferred)
• Manual handling (preferred)
