Our Client
Our client is a premier, large-scale commercial painting contractor with a reputation for delivering exceptional quality. Their diverse portfolio features prominent developments across Edinburgh, including high-profile commercial projects, major hotels, and student accommodations. Due to continued growth and an expanding pipeline of work, they are looking for a Project Manager to lead their teams on the ground and uphold our standards of excellence.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take full ownership of your assigned projects from initial mobilization right through to final completion and client handover. You will be acting as a key link between operational teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Project Delivery: Oversee projects from mobilisation through to final handover, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to an impeccable standard.
• Site & Workforce Management: Direct and motivate a mix of direct labour and subcontractors on site, keeping morale high and efficiency sharp.
• Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain excellent relationships by interfacing directly with main contractors, site management teams, and client representatives.
• Commercial & Programme Awareness: Monitor project timelines closely, manage variations, track resources, and maintain strong commercial awareness to protect project margins.
• Health, Safety & Quality: Champion a culture of safety on site, ensuring strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations while maintaining rigorous quality control.
What We Are Looking For
• Industry Expertise: Extensive experience managing large-scale commercial painting and decorating projects.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of painting, decorating, and high-end finishing processes.
• Qualifications: Valid SMSTS certification is essential.
• Leadership Skills: Proven track role in managing direct tradesmen and subcontractors on fast-paced commercial sites.
• Communication: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a track record of successfully managing relationships with main contractors.
• Drive: Someone with strong programme awareness who can take total responsibility for delivery on the ground.
