Estimating Bid Manager - #2130014

CNX Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist contractor for an experienced Estimator / Bid Manager to join their growing commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional to play a key role in securing high-value projects across the construction sector. Working closely with senior management, you will lead the estimating and bid submission process from initial enquiry through to tender submission, helping drive continued business growth.

The Role

As Estimator / Bid Manager, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates while managing the preparation and submission of high-quality tender documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates from drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Managing the full bid and tender process from enquiry through to submission.
• Obtaining and analysing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities within tender submissions.
• Preparing pricing schedules, take-offs and cost breakdowns.
• Liaising with clients, consultants and internal teams throughout the tender process.
• Supporting negotiations and post-tender clarifications.
• Maintaining an organised pipeline of tender opportunities and submission deadlines.
• Assisting with continuous improvement of estimating and bid processes.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

• Previous experience as an Estimator, Bid Manager or in a combined estimating/bid management role within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and tendering procedures.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously while working to strict deadlines.
• A proactive and solution-focused approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
