As a Support Worker in our Community Support and Holiday Service, you'll support adults with learning disabilities to enjoy greater independence, build confidence and take part in the activities they enjoy. Every day is different, with opportunities to support people in their local community and beyond.

What you will do

• Support individuals to enjoy community activities and hobbies

About you

You don't need previous experience in care to be successful in this role. We're looking for someone with compassion, a positive attitude and a genuine desire to support others. You'll have good communication skills, basic IT skills and be keen to learn.

You will hold, or be willing to achieve, an SVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Social Care (depending on the role), or an equivalent qualification that meets Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration requirements. Experience or a qualification in supporting autistic people would be welcomed but isn't essential. This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

As a Support Worker in our Housing and Residential Service, you will play an important role in helping adults with learning disabilities live as independently as possible. You'll support individuals to achieve their goals, build confidence and enjoy fulfilling lives, while providing the reassurance and encouragement they need every day.

What you will do

• Support individuals with daily living tasks and personal care where required
• Encourage independence and help develop practical life skills
• Support people to access work, education, hobbies and community activities
• Assist with medication following training and procedures
• Help maintain safe, welcoming homes
• Build positive relationships with individuals, families and professionals
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to person centred support plans
• Promote dignity, choice and inclusion in everything you do

About you

You'll be caring, reliable and committed to delivering high quality, person centred support. You'll enjoy building positive relationships, work well as part of a team and have basic IT skills for maintaining records. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be preferred, as the role may involve supporting individuals to attend appointments, activities and community outings. However, this is not essential.

Experience in social care is welcomed but not essential, as full training will be provided.
