They are now looking for an experienced Structural / Civil Engineering Technical Manager to join their Edinburgh team.

The Role

  • This is a senior technical leadership position with a strong focus on temporary works and temporary structures, alongside wider civil and structural engineering
  • You'll lead the technical delivery of projects from initial planning and design through to site delivery and close-out, coordinating multidisciplinary inputs and working closely with clients, contractors and internal teams
  • You'll provide technical oversight across temporary structures, access arrangements, roads, car parking, drainage, water supply and earthworks, while ensuring designs are robust, compliant and delivered to a high standard

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate and review structural and civil engineering outputs, particularly temporary works and temporary structures
  • Oversee temporary works design, review and coordination
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs across structural, civil, geotechnical, transportation and other specialist teams
  • Lead project reviews, client meetings and stakeholder workshops
  • Carry out technical audits, risk reviews and design checks
  • Manage project deliverables, budgets, proposals and invoicing
  • Attend sites and provide technical support during project delivery

About You

You'll be an experienced Structural or Civil Engineer with strong technical and project leadership experience, ideally with a background in temporary works, temporary structures or specialist engineering projects.

You'll ideally have:

  • A degree and chartered status
  • Significant civil / structural experience from a UK design engineering consultancy
  • Strong experience in temporary works design, review and/or coordination
  • Experience with temporary or specialist structures would be highly advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of UK design standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, client and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to lead and review technical work while supporting more junior engineers

What's in it for you?

  • Competitive salary, private healthcare, life insurance and contributory pension
  • Hybrid and flexible working
  • Ongoing career and professional development
  • The opportunity to work on high-profile, technically challenging projects across the UK and internationally

Interested?

If you're a Chartered Structural or Civil Engineer with strong temporary works experience and are looking for a role offering greater technical responsibility, client exposure and involvement in specialist projects, I'd be keen to hear from you!
