Payroll Officer / Finance Assistant

6 Month Interim Contract | Predominantly Remote | Central Scotland

Salary Equivalent: £31,000-£33,000 (PAYE)

Robert Half is delighted to be partnering with a growing infrastructure business to recruit an Interim Payroll Officer / Finance Assistant for an initial 3-6 month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative finance team and provide vital support during a particularly busy period. The business operates across the UK, Ireland and Germany, delivering large infrastructure projects, and is looking for someone who enjoys working across both payroll and finance administration in a varied, hands-on role.

Predominantly remote working is available, although candidates based within reasonable travelling distance of Livingston would be advantageous.

The Role

Working as part of a small finance team, you'll provide support across payroll and wider finance activities, helping relieve pressure on the existing team and ensuring key processes continue to run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll

• Coordinate payroll information across the UK, Ireland and Germany.
• Support monthly payroll processing for approximately 135 employees across three countries.
• Collate German payroll information and employee hours for submission to the payroll provider.
• Assist with bonus calculations and payroll queries.
• Liaise with external payroll providers where required.

Finance

• Support Accounts Receivable and employee expenses processing.
• Assist with supplier payment runs.
• Provide general finance administration support across the wider team.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

• Previous payroll experience.
• Experience working as a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Payroll Officer.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience using accounting software (Xero would be advantageous).
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the flexibility to support across the wider finance function.
