This role is based in Edinburgh and is ideal for a Chartered Surveyor or Environmental Economist looking to work in the property industry. You'll handle a mix of responsibilities that help ensure projects are delivered efficiently while supporting key business operations.

Description

Provide professional advice on land, property, development and environmental matters.

Undertake economic and financial appraisal of projects, policies and investment proposals.

Carry out cost-benefit analysis and economic impact assessments.

Assess the economic implications of environmental and land-use decisions.

Support the valuation and appraisal of land, property and natural capital assets.

Undertake environmental valuation, including consideration of ecosystem services and natural capital.

Advise clients on the relationship between development, land use, sustainability and economic value.

Prepare feasibility studies, business cases and options appraisals.

Analyse market, economic, environmental and property data.

Contribute to environmental impact assessments and wider socio-economic assessments where appropriate.

Prepare clear reports, recommendations and presentations for clients and stakeholders.

Work with planners, environmental specialists, engineers, surveyors, economists and other professional advisers.

Engage with public-sector organisations, landowners, developers and other stakeholders.

Support business development and contribute to proposals and tenders.

Profile

A relevant degree in Surveying, Economics, Environmental Economics, Land Economy, Rural Surveying, Environmental Management or a related discipline.

MRICS / Chartered Surveyor status, or relevant equivalent professional experience.

Alternatively, a strong Environmental Economics background with experience relating to land, property, infrastructure or development.

Experience undertaking economic appraisal, valuation, cost-benefit analysis or impact assessment.

An understanding of environmental economics, sustainability and/or natural capital.

Strong analytical and numerical skills.

Excellent report-writing and communication skills.

The ability to translate complex technical and economic information into clear recommendations.

Job Offer

  • Salary ranging from £30,000 - £40,000 dependent on the level of experience.
  • Permanent contract.
