Overview

The Quality Auditor will operate as an independent auditor across the business, responsible for auditing management systems, auditing internal auditors, reviewing compliance and driving continual improvement across quality, environmental and health & safety systems.

This is not a Quality Manager position. The focus is on auditing, assurance and governance rather than ownership of management systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver the company's internal audit programme.

• Plan, conduct and report on audits across multiple business locations and projects.

• Audit management systems against:

  • ISO 9001 (primary focus)

  • ISO 14001

  • ISO 45001

  • Energy Management Systems

• Audit internal auditors and provide assurance on audit quality and effectiveness.

• Review corrective actions, performance indicators and audit findings.

• Produce audit reports and recommendations for senior management.

• Support supplier and supply chain auditing activities.

• Ensure independence from operational delivery and management system ownership.

• Act as a business-wide independent auditor, ensuring auditors are not auditing their own work.

Candidate Profile

• Construction, civils or infrastructure sector experience preferred.

• Qualified Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor.

• Strong ISO 9001 auditing experience essential.

• Experience auditing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 desirable.

• Experience with Energy Management Systems beneficial.

• Background as a Quality Systems Auditor, Environmental Systems Auditor or Integrated Management Systems Auditor preferred.

• Must understand audit methodology, governance and assurance processes.

• Open to candidates from manufacturing or fixed-facility environments where auditing teams travel nationally, provided they can demonstrate a suitable auditing approach and mindset.

• Suitable for candidates looking to progress from Internal Auditor into a broader independent auditing role.

Location & Travel

• Flexible location, ideally within the Scottish Central Belt.

• Offices located in:

  • Dingwall

  • Glasgow

• National travel required.

• Site visits across the UK.

• Potential supplier and supply chain auditing responsibilities.
