An established multidisciplinary environmental and engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Environmental Planning Consultant to support the continued growth of its Environmental Planning team.
The organisation delivers environmental planning and assessment services across major UK projects spanning transport, infrastructure, water, energy, renewables, defence, residential, commercial and minerals. You will join a collaborative multidisciplinary environment with the opportunity to influence major projects while developing your career within a growing environmental team.
Your new role
You will take a important role in the delivery of complex Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), environmental planning and consenting projects, providing technical, commercial and project leadership.
Working closely with multidisciplinary technical specialists, clients and project stakeholders, you will manage projects from inception through to delivery. You will also contribute to business development, client relationship management and the continued development of the wider Environmental Planning team.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and coordinating complex EIA and environmental planning projects.
• Managing project programmes, budgets, resources and multidisciplinary teams.
• Directing environmental assessments and identifying environmental risks, opportunities and mitigation measures.
• Producing and reviewing high-quality environmental reports and technical documentation.
• Providing technical advice to clients and internal project teams.
• Managing relationships with clients, stakeholders and project partners.
• Supporting and mentoring junior and developing environmental professionals.
• Leading and contributing to bids, tenders and framework opportunities.
• Supporting the strategic growth of environmental planning services.
• Maintaining high standards of technical quality and regulatory compliance.

What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or another relevant discipline, alongside significant experience within environmental consultancy.
You should have:

• Strong experience delivering and managing EIA projects.
• A good understanding of environmental planning and consenting processes.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary environmental projects.
• Strong project management skills, including budgets, programmes and resources.
• Excellent client and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience producing and reviewing environmental reports and assessments.
• Commercial awareness and an interest in supporting business development.
