ROLE: Senior Estimator

Are you an experienced structural steel estimator looking for your next challenge?

We're representing a highly regarded, forward-thinking steel fabrication business with an outstanding reputation across major infrastructure and a strong pipeline of high-profile work. They're looking for a Senior Estimator to take ownership of estimating activity on large-scale structural steel packages, working directly with Tier 1 main contractors on bids, tenders, and negotiated projects.

There's genuine scope here to grow the role - for the right person, this could develop into leading and shaping the estimating function, with real autonomy and input at senior level.

Working arrangement is primarily on-site, with hybrid working potentially available for the right candidate - a set-up that would need to work for both you and the client, so this is one to discuss directly rather than assume.

The Role

• Take full ownership of estimating activity across large-scale infrastructure and structural steel packages.
• Work closely with Tier 1 main contractors on bids, tenders, and negotiated projects.
• Support pricing strategy and value engineering.
• Mentor junior estimators as part of the wider team.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on pipeline and forecasting.
• Scope to take on leadership of the estimating division as the role develops, for candidates ready for that step.

About You

• Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within the structural steel sector.
• Confident dealing with Tier 1 contractors and familiar with their processes.
• Strong understanding of take-offs, pricing strategy, and tender submissions.
• Commercially astute with the ability to protect margin while remaining competitive.
• Ambitious and driven - whether you want to stay hands-on at senior level or grow into leading the function, this role can flex to suit.
