ROLE: Estimating Manager
SALARY: Up to £80,000
LOCATION: Edinburgh

We're representing a highly regarded, forward-thinking steel fabrication business with an outstanding reputation across major infrastructure. With a strong pipeline of high-profile work, they are now seeking an Estimating Manager to lead and shape their estimating function.

This is a genuine opportunity to build the division in your own image, with autonomy, ownership, and board-level visibility.

Working arrangement is primarily on-site, with hybrid working potentially available for the right candidate - a set-up that would need to work for both you and the client, so this is one to discuss directly rather than assume.

The Role

• Lead and develop the estimating division, implementing robust processes, strategy, and controls.
• Take full ownership of estimating activity across large-scale infrastructure and structural steel packages.
• Work closely with Tier 1 main contractors on bids, tenders, and negotiated projects.
• Oversee pricing strategy and value engineering.
• Mentor and support junior estimators.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on pipeline, forecasting, and business strategy.

About You

• Proven leadership experience in estimating within the structural steel sector.
• Confident dealing with Tier 1 contractors and familiar with their processes.
• Strong understanding of take-offs, pricing strategy, and tender submissions.
• Commercially astute with the ability to protect margin while remaining competitive.
• Ambitious, driven, and capable of building and shaping a high-performing division.
