Planning Solicitor (3 years'+) – Edinburgh

A highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Planning Solicitor (3 years'+ PQE) to join its established Planning team in Edinburgh or Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on major energy, infrastructure and development projects across Scotland and the wider UK, advising developers, energy companies, utilities and public sector organisations.

The Role

You will support partners on a broad range of planning and consenting matters, including:

• Development Consent Orders (DCOs) and compulsory purchase
• Planning applications and appeals
• Section 36 consents and marine licences
• EIA and HRA
• Public inquiries and judicial review
• Planning agreements and roads law
• Planning aspects of energy, infrastructure and real estate transactions

The team works closely with colleagues across other specialist practice areas, with the opportunity to focus on Scottish projects or a broader UK-wide workload.

About You

You will be a Qualified Solicitor with 3+ PQE and experience within a recognised Planning team. Experience of DCO and/or CPO work would be advantageous, alongside a genuine interest in energy, infrastructure and development planning.

Strong communication, organisational and commercial skills are essential, together with an interest in developing client relationships and contributing to business development.
