On behalf of M&G, AMS are looking for a Financial Crime Investigations Analyst based in Edinburgh/Stirling for a 6-month contract, hybrid (onsite for intial 2 weeks then 2 days in the office per week).

Job Description - The Role

Financial Crime Investigations Analyst is an experienced role with day-to-day responsibility for the completion of non-complex investigations, gathering financial crime intelligence, and supporting the Investigations Consultants and Investigations Lead in executing their responsibilities.

What you'll do:

• Conduct day-to-day execution of non-complex investigations and queries..
• Support senior Investigations Consultants on more complex investigations and intelligence analysis.
• Gather and analyse information from relevant internal and external sources.
• Carry out open-source research and intelligence gathering, including threat-scanning activities.
• Respond to intelligence requests and assist with identifying emerging financial crime risks.
• Support delivery of Financial Crime Enhancement Programme initiatives and milestones.
• Manage investigation caseloads and team mailboxes.
• Prepare investigation reports, summaries, and escalation papers.
• Assist with SAR, STR, and DAML-related activities.
• Contribute to the implementation and use of case management tools.
• Support delivery of Financial Crime Enhancement Programme initiatives.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, MLRO teams, regulators, and law enforcement where required.
• Undertake other reasonable tasks and activities required by the team or wider function.

The skills you'll need:

• Experience in Financial Crime, AML, Fraud, KYC, EDD, Intelligence, or Investigations.
• Experience conducting financial crime, fraud, transaction monitoring, or AML investigations.
• Strong understanding of financial crime typologies and AML regulations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and report-writing skills.
• Experience analysing financial transactions, customer records, and behavioural patterns to identify suspicious activity.
• Experience gathering intelligence from open sources, OSINT, and adverse media searches.
• Experience preparing investigation reports, summaries, and recommendations for escalation.
• Experience supporting or preparing SARs, STRs, and DAMLs.
• Experience using financial crime case management systems and investigation tools.
• Experience conducting horizon scanning, threat assessments, and identifying emerging financial crime risks.
• Strong analytical, report writing, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
