Are you a Principal Hydrogeologist looking for a role combining technical leadership, project responsibility and client management? This is an opportunity to join an established multidisciplinary consultancy in Edinburgh, leading hydrogeology and water environment projects across infrastructure, renewables, power, industrial and built environment sectors.

The Principal Hydrogeologist will provide technical and project leadership, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams while supporting the development of less experienced colleagues.

The Principal Hydrogeologist role will include:

* Leading hydrogeological assessments, investigations and monitoring programmes
* Preparing and reviewing EIA water chapters
* Water environment assessments, abstraction licensing and groundwater permitting
* Providing technical leadership, analysis and reporting
* Managing client relationships and supporting proposals
* Leading multidisciplinary project delivery
* Mentoring and developing scientists and hydrogeologists

The Principal Hydrogeologist should have:

* Substantial UK hydrogeology or water environment experience
* A degree in Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Geoscience or a related discipline
* Strong hydrogeological assessment and water monitoring experience
* Knowledge of UK water legislation and regulatory requirements
* Strong technical reporting, client and communication skills
* Chartered status or be working towards chartership
* A driving licence permitting you to drive in the UK

GIS, analysis or modelling software experience would be advantageous rather than essential.

The Principal Hydrogeologist position offers £60,000 - £70,000, hybrid and flexible working, professional development, pension, private medical insurance and discretionary bonus.
