We are looking for an experienced Data/AI Solutions Architect to design scalable, secure and resilient data and artificial intelligence solutions. You will help drive strategic initiatives across Machine Learning, LLMOps, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Agentic AI and cloud migration, primarily within a Google Cloud Platform environment.

Bridging business requirements and technical delivery, you will provide architectural leadership, engage senior stakeholders and ensure that solutions comply with enterprise data governance, security, regulatory and ethical AI standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end architectures for AI, Machine Learning, data and Agentic AI solutions running on Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop and maintain iterative architectural designs aligned with modern engineering practices, platform strategy, technology standards and security controls.
• Architect secure, resilient and scalable GCP workloads using services such as BigQuery, Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Vertex AI, Looker and Cloud Composer.
• Design cloud-native, event-driven and microservices-based solutions.
• Apply Kubernetes, service mesh, ingress, workload identity and network-security principles.
• Design API and service-integration patterns using Istio, Apigee and modern microservices standards.
• Integrate enterprise authentication and authorisation patterns, including OIDC, IAM roles, workload identities and Apigee security policies.
• Create technical patterns and orchestrations for Agentic AI, LLM-based applications, RAG and AI workflow automation.
• Ensure solutions meet regulatory, risk-management, data-governance, security and ethical AI requirements.
• Work closely with engineering, data science and business teams to translate requirements into actionable high-level designs.
• Articulate architectural trade-offs, lead design decisions and shape long-term technical direction.
• Represent technical designs within architectural governance forums, including ARC and AWG.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience designing enterprise solutions across major cloud platforms, particularly GCP, with Azure experience also valuable.
• Deep understanding of modern data architecture, Machine Learning, generative AI and associated tooling.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Google Cloud services including BigQuery, Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Vertex AI, Looker and Cloud Composer.
• Experience designing solutions using Kubernetes, service mesh, ingress and workload identity.
• Strong knowledge of API management, enterprise integration and microservices architecture.
• Experience with Istio, Apigee and enterprise AuthN/AuthZ patterns.
• Proven ability to design technical patterns for Agentic AI, LLM-based systems, RAG and workflow orchestration.
• Experience with large-scale data migrations, ETL toolsets and modern data-movement patterns.
• The ability to assess architectural options, communicate trade-offs and lead technical decision-making.
• Strong communication, stakeholder-management and architectural-governance skills.
• Experience working within regulated or security-conscious enterprise environments.
• Banking or financial-services experience would be beneficial.

Beneficial Skills

• Experience with Vertex AI or comparable model lifecycle and MLOps tooling.
• Knowledge of LangChain, LangGraph and RAG implementation patterns.
• Experience working across GCP, Azure, AWS or hybrid-cloud environments.
• Understanding of enterprise event architecture and event-driven integration.
• Experience supporting DataStage decommissioning or modernisation programmes.
