Job Purpose

Orchestrates complex solution architectures of broad significance, defines the architecture and design needed for key

outcomes, shapes the forward-looking solution architecture for a Lab or Platform, and partners with Product Owners,

engineering teams and Enterprise Architects.

Role Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Platform Leads, Enterprise Architects and Engineers to create and maintain the

architectural runway for Platform teams.

• Partner with Enterprise Architecture and service providers to elaborate solutions and interfaces; validate assumptions;

assess implementation alternatives and lifecycle risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies.

• Analyse options and deliver end-to-end solution designs using relevant architecture building blocks; design features

that support frequent incremental customer value.

• Promote adaptive design and collaboration around a common vision with continuous feedback.

• Own technical-design risks and issues and drive resolution through architectural or agile practices.

• Participate in agile ceremonies; elicit requirements; shape and validate designs or prototypes aligned to target

architecture and customer outcomes.

• Apply industry practices, frameworks, standards and policies; set guiding principles and solution-success criteria.

• Contribute to investment and funding activity for solution opportunities and support financial estimation, spend and risk

management aligned to platform roadmaps.

• Provide oversight for built-in quality and decoupled, resilient, secure, scalable and modernised architectures.

• Identify and impact-assess software and infrastructure currency risks; recommend action plans and support

continuous evergreening.

• Lead architectural governance, assure compliance with standards, and work with Enterprise, Security, Data and

Infrastructure architects.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and architects; communicate recommendations to technical

and non-technical audiences.
